Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300 Wont Start Past GT-S5300 and SAMSUNG display!
The brain almost exploding, heartbeat racing, and traumatic confusion ensue!
Those are the experiences one goes through when one's dear smartphone crashes. I had this experience when I was experimenting with my GT-S5300.
It began with a desire to write some Amharic symbols in reply to a friend in Ethiopia. The phone was not able to display and write Amharic symbol. Therefore, I had to find a way to root my phone so that I could Install Amharic fonts. The onset of the doom began as follows:
I had to think harder. I realized that font files are part of Android OS kernel objects thus it forms the firmware of the OS. The reason why the phone wont boot well was because of referencing to a resource(font) that is not available, thus to resolve the problem is to replace the resource and that was not possible. This led to the creme de la creme solution as follows:
DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The phone will automatically restart and boots to Android User Interface. yaaay!

- Download RootExplorer.apk
- Install the RootExplorer in the smartphone.
- Now download custom DroidSans.ttf font.
- Open RootExplorer application in the phone and browse to root/system/font then paste DroidSans.ttf
- Download and install Keyboard-latest.apk
- Shutdown the phone
- press Volume-Up Key+Home Key + Power button then;
- Reset the phone
- Wipe cache

- Download GT-S5300 Kernel from samfirmware
- Download Odin3
- Run Odin3
- Connect the phone to the PC using a USB cable(Make sure the USB drivers are installed on the PC ). If you dont have the Drivers installed you could download and install samsung USB drivers.
- Shutdown the phone and start it while holding the keys Volume-down + Home + Power button
- select downloding mode and the phone will be in odin mode and Odin3 on your PC will recognize it.
- On the Odin3 interface Click on AP or PDA and browse for the fimware you downloaded
- Leave the default settings on and click start
DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The phone will automatically restart and boots to Android User Interface. yaaay!
